LIAM SCEATS


Liam Sceats, an 18-year-old aspiring racing car driver from Auckland, New Zealand, aims to advance his career towards being a professional racing car driver. With over 10 years of experience in motorsport, he began Go-karting at the age of 6. Liam concluded his decade-long karting career as a 5-time National Event Champion and represented New Zealand in Italy and Australia. 

In 2021, he progressed to the Single Seater Category in Formula Ford, competing for two full seasons. His first season was considered a learning opportunity in the highly competitive category, yet he still managed to finish 4th in the North Island Championship. In the same year, Liam was selected for the prestigious Elite Motorsport Academy, which has developed Kiwi drivers into global competitors.

In his second year of Formula Ford, he led the New Zealand Championship for most of the season but narrowly missed out on winning the championship in 2022 due to a mechanical issue in the final race of the season. Despite this, he secured the Class 2 Formula Ford NZ Championship and third place overall.

In his rookie Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship season, an impressive 4th overall positioned him to compete in the Formula Regional Japanese Championship for the rest of 2023, finishing 2nd overall with 3 race wins and 8 podium finishes.

Leading into the 2024 Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship, Liam was seen as a title favorite. His season comprised 3 race wins including the prestigious 68th New Zealand Grand Prix title and a notable 8 podiums out of 15 races which led him to finishing a strong 2nd overall in the championship. 

Liam Sceats has the goal of working hard on raising further sponsorship and looking for new prospects to achieve his goal of competing in the USF Pro 2000 category, a crucial step on the Road to Indy program
